(letture consigliate) L'EMEROTECA DI AMANULLAH

Di Giuliano Battiston segnalo spesso gli articoli. E' uno dei rari giornalisti che passa molto tempo in Afghanistan e dunque ha il polso della situazione. Se n'è accorto anche Karzai e ieri il suo portavoce ha rilanciato via twitter l'articolo che Giuliano ha scritto in inglese per Ips. E' una sintesi di un lungo reportage uscito su il manifesto qualche giorno fa e che potete leggere integralmente qui.

Alcuni giorni fa Giuliano Battiston si è recato a Saracha (la foto a sinistra è sua), che è una piccola località della zona orientale dell'Afghanistan, non lontano da Jalalabad dove si è consumata l'ennesima strage Nato a danno di civili afgani. Scrive: "Da qualche giorno, nel cimitero ci sono tre nuove tombe, tre cumuli di terra alti ricoperti di arbusti per evitare che i cani randagi scavino in cerca di carne non ancora decomposta. Lì sotto ci sono i corpi senza vita di Sahebullah, Wasihullah e Amanullah, tre dei cinque ragazzi uccisi a Saracha venerdì 4 ottobre da un attacco aereo dalle forze Isaf-Nato. Per i soldati stranieri erano “insurgents”, Talebani, pericolosi terroristi. Per gli abitanti di Saracha sono dei martiri, uccisi senza ragione. Così recita lo stendardo bianco su cui sono impressi i loro nomi, la loro età, i versetti del Corano".

(English text extrat): "The dusty cemetery in Saracha village hosts three new graves: small hills of soil shielding the bodies of Sahebullah, Wasihullah and Amanullah, three of the five boys and young men killed by an ISAF-NATO airstrike on late Friday, Oct. 4.
According to the firsts ISAF-NATO reports, the five were “enemy forces”, “insurgents”, killed with a “precision strike”. According to the white banner overlooking their graves, they are “martyrs”: innocent people killed by error. Wasihullah and Amanullah were brothers. They used to live in a house not far from the cemetery in Saracha village in the district of Beshud at the door of Jalalabad, the main city in the eastern province of Nangarhar.
